Visit our https://scf.edu/Administration/HumanResources/Benefits/default.asp for benefit details Job Summary To assist with the administration of the student employment program at the State College of Florida (SCF) to include the determination of eligibility, maintenance of employment budgets, monitoring of eligibility and processing files within accordance of state and federal guidelines. This position will also coordinate on and off campus workshops to include FAFSA workshops, financial literacy and coordination of events. The Coordinator, Student Employment and Outreach is responsible for monitoring student employment programs for SCF students and ensuring that the College is meeting the standards set by the Department of Education for the administration of Title IV funding. Applicants may be asked to demonstrate any or all of the following duties: • Maintains a professional demeanor and customer service mindset. This includes knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services such as customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction when interacting with current and prospective students and families, SCF staff and SCF administration. • Reviews financial aid applications to determine the extent of financial need and make awards of financial support within the limits set by established policies, rules and regulations; audit and adjust awards on a continuous basis; revises estimates of need as student and/or parents report changes in their financial circumstances. • Assist students and parents with the completion of forms and documents required to secure financial aid as necessary. • Monitors federal aid application (FAFSA, ISIRs) to clear issues related to incorrect names/SSN matches, selective service matches, or citizenship documentation problems (C- FLAGs). • Maintains an exceptional ability to organize, prioritize, and multi-task in an extremely dynamic environment. Effective problem-solving skills, and a strong desire to help those who have questions or seek resolutions. Maintains an excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Attends on-campus events, off-campus workshops and department meetings scheduled on a rotating basis. • Serves as a liaison with other College offices such as Enrollment Management, Cashiering, HR, etc. • Develop, coordinate and implement workshops and events in collaboration with SCF departments and community partners. • Administers Federal Work Study program: eligibility, awarding, monitoring and reconciliation of student eligibility and payments. • Provides assistance to student supervisors with advertising, hiring procedures, supervisory concerns, budget inquiries and emergency coverage needs. • Increases SCF's expenditures beyond on-campus offices for efficient/productive spending off-campus employment funding. Develop relationships with local non-profit organizations to support math, literacy and internship commitments. • Remains current on federal and state student employment regulations and best practices. • Maintains a system to track and monitor the academic progress and enrollment qualifications for all student workers. • Performs other duties as assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • Education/Experience: Associate's Degree or equivalent from a regionally accredited college or university and one year of relevant experience with financial aid programs or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience administering Title IV programs preferred. • Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience required. Leadership experience preferred. • Language Ability: Ability to effectively read, analyze, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
