Job Summary The Lifelong Learning and Workforce Development department is seeking a Youth Enrichment Assistant. This is a seasonal/temporary part time position. Hiring range $15-$17 hourly. The position of Youth Enrichment Assistant assists the Youth Enrichment Coordinator and the Youth Enrichment Instructor(s) with curriculum delivery, youth supervision, guidance and monitoring, and organization of daily enrichment program activities and supplies for those activities. Manages classroom preparation and clean up. Performs administrative duties and manages facilities, equipment, and supplies in working and safe condition. Supports activities to meet enrichment program goals. Maintains activities schedule which ensures consistent and high-quality learning experience through rigorous youth engagement. Applicants may be asked to demonstrate any or all of the following duties: • Supports curriculum delivery and inspires youth engagement in rigorous enrichment program activities. • Provides youth supervision and disciplinary remediation as necessary following enrichment program policies and procedures. • Organizes daily program activities in an efficient and orderly manner. • Implements and manages classroom preparation and clean up. • Controls sanitization/cleaning protocols • Performs administrative duties to support enrichment program activities. • Preserves facilities, equipment, and supplies in working and safe conditions. • Leads youth activities to meet the enrichment program goals. • Provides consistent and high-quality learning experience. • Performs other duties as assigned. Job Qualifications The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • Education/Experience: High School Graduation/GED is required. • Supervisory Experience: Experience working with youth is preferred. • Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret the enrichment program curriculum, equipment manuals and directions, SCF publications, parental communications, daily reports, and other technical documents. Ability to effectively present information to youth and staff. • Math Ability: Ability to calculate basic arithmetic - adding, subtracting, multiplication and division, and math applications including measurement, percentages, area, and volume. • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram/chart form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete changes in standardized situations. • Computer Skills: Ability to perform disciplinary remediation with youth who are having difficulty following camp classroom policies and procedures. Ability to solve problems. • Certificates and Licenses: Microsoft office experience is preferred. Responsibility for People and Property: Helps the Youth Coordinator and the Youth Instructor(s) in youth supervision, youth guidance and youth monitoring. Maintains the camp facilities, equipment, and supplies in working and safe condition. Responsibility for Communication: • Internal Contacts: Routine contact with all levels of SCF youth enrichment program students, parents, staff, and sponsors. • External Contacts: Contact with SCF youth enrichment program visitors, and occasional SCF visitors touring SCF facilities. Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Examples include classrooms, athletic fields, performance studios, and outdoor walking trails. The noise level in the work environment fluctuates and could be moderate to above average due to electronic devices, musical instruments, and other external factors. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is routinely required to use manual dexterity, talk, and hear. The employee will be on their feet frequently and is required to walk, reach with arms and hands, and lift to 15 pounds.
