Radiography, Program Director Salary: See Position Description Location: Bradenton Job Type: Department: Radiology Job Number: Closing: Continuous Job Summary This position is responsible for providing high quality leadership as both an academician and administrator of departmental programming. The Program Director is responsible for ensuring compliance with Accreditation Standards as delineated by the appropriate accrediting agency. The Program Director must demonstrate effective problem-solving skills, and a willingness to work within the administrative structure. The Program Director position is a 12-month faculty appointment with teaching and administrative responsibilities during the Fall and Spring semesters and administrative responsibilities during the summer. The position receives 50% release time annually, totaling 15 ILH divided over the Fall and Spring semesters to allow for the completion of administrative functions inherent in the position. Initial Rank and Salary will be determined at the time of offer. Applicants may be asked to demonstrate any or all of the following duties: • Encourages professional growth and development of departmental faculty and staff. • Schedules and assigns faculty teaching loads. • Develops and implements appropriate program policies and procedures. • Serves on College committees as required. • Recruits, provides orientation, supervises, mentors, and evaluates adjunct faculty. • Assists class coverage for absent faculty as needed. • Supervises and evaluates, staff assistants and other career employees who are assigned department responsibilities. • Provides supervision and evaluation of departmental faculty. • Develops short and long-term goals and objectives for the department. • Develops, implements, and evaluates courses and programs within the department. • Develops and monitors department class schedules. • Prepares and administers the department budget. • Performs other duties as assigned. Job Qualifications The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • Education/Experience: Masters Degree from an accredited institution of higher education in discipline and/or education. Current licensure to practice in the State of Florida or Florida license eligibility. Demonstrated teaching skills and subject knowledge preferably at the community college level. Holds a minimum of a master's degreeExperience in curriculum design, evaluation, instruction, program administration and academic advising.Three years' clinical experience in the professional disciplineTwo years' experience as an instructor in a JRCERT accredited programHold current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification and registration or equivalent in radiography and licensure in Florida or eligible for licensure.Content expertise and ability to teach: RTE 1418 Exposures I (physics); RTE 1458 Exposures II (physics/digital radiography); RTE 2523 Procedures III (trauma, sterile technique); RTE 2563 Procedures IV (pathology, pharmacology); RTE 2061 Rad Review. • Supervisory Experience: One to two years of direct supervisory experience, including responsibility for hiring, firing, performance management, training and coaching is required. • Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to technical questions and/or complaints from college leadership, customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the community. • Math Ability: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. • Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to work with formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc. • Computer Skills: Intermediate knowledge of e-mail, Internet, word processing, spreadsheet, and College database. • Certificates and Licenses: Valid driver's license, or the ability to transport routinely between campuses. Responsibility for People and Property: Supervises the faculty and staff of departments within the assigned academic department. Oversees the Department's budget and aspects of Perkins, Foundation related to Academic Affairs and miscellaneous grants periodically. Responsible for equipment and software in the Department. Responsibility for Communication: • Internal Contacts: Routine contact with SCF students, faculty, and staff. • External Contacts: Routine contact with academic and industry representatives.
