Assistant Director, Marketing Salary: $51,720.00 - $81,718.00 Annually Location: Bradenton Job Type: Department: Marketing Job Number: Closing: 9/5/2025 11:59 PM Eastern Description Job Summary The Assistant Director, Marketing is a senior member of the marketing team responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the department and overseeing the execution of strategic advertising initiatives. This position plays a key leadership role in advancing SCF's marketing objectives by supervising staff, coordinating campaign development, managing media planning, and serving in a support role to the Director. He/she will be comfortable with long-term strategy and thrive in an environment with tight deadlines and changing needs. Applicants may be asked to demonstrate any or all of the following duties: • Assists the Director, Marketing with the creation and implementation of integrated marketing strategies and plans that drive awareness, engagement, enrollment, and revenue; analyzes customer trends and behaviors to inform planning. • Serves as the operational lead on all advertising campaigns, including planning, media buying, and performance tracking. Coordinates with vendors and agencies, manages campaign budgets, collects tear sheets and affidavits, and makes real-time adjustments as needed. • Oversees development of creative briefs and collaborates with the Director, Marketing, to guide creative direction and messaging. Reviews and approves marketing assets and collateral for accuracy, quality, and consistency before final Director review. • Oversees development of marketing materials, including editing and proofreading for accuracy, brand consistency, and adherence to design standards. Determines timelines and distribution strategies for reaching target audiences. • Manages the buying, scheduling, and placement of advertising in various media formats with vendor account representatives, coordinates with agencies as needed, monitors quality, collects tear sheets and affidavits of performance, tracks campaign effectiveness, and makes real time changes as needed. • Prepares and monitors department and media budgets in collaboration with the Director, Marketing; works with the Executive Assistant, Student Services and Enrollment Management, to track payments, monitor account balances, and resolve vendor discrepancies. • Oversees creation and distribution of monthly Advertising Advisory. • Supervises, coaches, and evaluates direct reports, ensuring appropriate delegation, productivity, and professional development. • Works outside the typical workday to assist the College in making deadlines for select projects or supporting the department at special events, including graduation. • Performs other duties as assigned. Job Qualifications The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in related field (marketing) and five years of professional experience in writing and in creating and executing creative ideas and strategy; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Exceptional writing skills in different styles (i.e., reporting, feature writing, expository and persuasive). Demonstrated proficiency in the use of project management principles, graphic design principles and software applications and basic website design principles. The ability to think strategically and meet challenges both independently and as part of a team and work efficiently in a moderately-to-extremely busy office environment. • Supervisory Experience: At least two years of direct supervisory experience including responsibility for hiring, firing, performance management, training and coaching is required. • Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community. The ability to write, using AP style, quickly and accurately on the deadline. • Math Ability: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. • Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. • Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have an intermediate knowledge of word processing software; basic knowledge of spreadsheet, internet, and database software. Must be proficient with College e-mail and other College required software. The ability to use presentation and other standard communications software. • Certificates and Licenses: No certifications needed. Membership in public relations or business communicators association preferred. Responsibility for People and Property: This position is responsible for people or property. Responsibility for Communication: • Internal Contacts: Routine contact with administrators and other staff. • External Contacts: This position has daily contact with newspaper, radio and television staff and frequent contact with vendors.
