Job Description

New College of Florida is accepting applications for a Police Communications Operator. This is non-sworn law enforcement work operating dispatch telephone, radio, and computer systems in a public safety communications center involving computerized radio dispatching.

A high school diploma or GED is required. We provide state certification on the NCIC/FCIC computer system and applicant will obtain 911 telecommunications certification in first year of employment, if not already certified. Applicant should be computer literate, be proficient in typing and have the ability to effectively communicate and function in high stress situations. Shift work which can include days, nights, weekends and holidays. Nightshift differential pay is available. This position is eligible for Veterans Preference.
