Job Description
Job Title:                    Project Manager
 
Position Reports to:  President
 
Summary/Objective

The Project Manager position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the building process, including developing plans, establishing timetables, and determining labor and material costs.  This position oversees the work of other job site employees and subcontractors and ensures that projects are completed on budget and within scope.
 
Essential Functions:

  1. Follows blueprints and building plans to meet the needs of clients.
  2. Instructs and directs laborers and other construction helpers.
  3. Adjusts project plans, creates schedules, and qualifies subcontractors and employees.
  4. Assists with bidding new jobs, tracking inventory, purchasing, estimating, distributing resources and planning work assignments.
  5. Drafts and executes construction contracts and scope of work agreements with subcontractors.
  6. Ensures projects are completed within budget and meet profitability requirements.
  7. May drive company vehicle to transport materials and/or employees to job sites.
  8. Uses knowledge of OSHA regulations to assure compliance with OSHA construction safety and health standard requirements.  Understands potential job hazards and recommends actions to eliminate them.  Models correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  9. Demonstrates a high level of professionalism and customer service when interacting with clients, employees, subcontractors, city/county officials and potential clients.  Handles difficult situations with tact and diplomacy.
  10. Obtains material and labor estimates to assist in the quoting and planning processes.  Ensures that the proper quoting forms and guidelines are utilized.
  11. Participates in strategic planning initiatives.
  12. Maintains cooperative working relationships with all company employees.
  13. Complies with company policies pertaining to methods, procedures, records, reports, conduct, etc.
  14. In conjunction with the President, ensures the pricing structure for all services is competitive and that profitability is maintained.
  15. Processes orders and follows up on services rendered in accordance with company policies and customer requirements.
  16. Assures the confidentiality of customer lists and other sensitive company information.
  17. Performs any other related or unrelated, unassigned, unspecified, unusual, or special duty the President may assign from time to time.
 
Supervisory Responsibility

This position may provide guidance and direction to subcontracted employees and participate in the selection process for new employees.
 
Education:
  1. Must be knowledgeable about safety issues in within construction environments.
  2. Minimum of a high school education or equivalent and 5 years construction project management experience.
  3. Demonstrated ability to read and understand blueprints and building plans.
  4. Must possess strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  5. Ability to read and write English and follow verbal instructions.
  6. Must be skilled at using a tape measure and applying simple math to measure materials and calculate volume.
  7. Demonstrated success managing teams.
 
Preferred: 
  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Construction-related field.
  2. OSHA 10 or 30 hour training certification.
 
Licensing/Registration/Certification:
Required: Valid Florida Drivers License with driving record suitable for insurance purposes.

Experience:
Required: Five or more years of construction project management experience in a home remodeling business.
 
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  1. Mental abilities are required to compute business math formulas and to enter data onto spreadsheets, reports, and databases.
  2. Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets blueprints.
