The second annual Visions of the Black Experience film series is taking place from Nov. 12th-22nd, 2020. Due to Covid-19, the presentation of this years program will be virtual, offered for free. The festival celebrates and illuminates the historical, social, and cultural aspects of black life through film. Visions of the Black Experience showcases over 30 features and narrative/documentary shorts, including local and international films focused on vital themes like social justice, healthcare within the black community, police brutality, and more. The feature program includes a Chadwick Boseman retrospective, with the films 42 and GET ON UP, locally-made films, THROUGH THE STORM, INTO THE TUNNEL, SINCERELY THE BLACK KIDS, AND 9/11 KIDS, acclaimed festival selections PAHOKEE and AMERICAN TRIAL: THE STORY OF ERIC GARNER, and many more.
