Event Description:
This 2 hour workshop will introduce the fabulous world of Scratchboarding. Teaching various techniques and utilizing a range of different tools to bring images to life. The first 30 minutes of the workshop is spent learning different scratchboard tools which can be used for etching. A practice board will be supplied to each student to allow each to be experienced together with individual techniques which are used in creating different effects such as fur, stippling, cross hatching, etc. During the remaining time in class an instructor provided image is transfered to a 3 x 5 ampersand scratchboard, this permits the instructor to give step by step instruction to the students, and ensures each student has an equal allocation of the instructor's time. At the end of the session there should be an understanding of the basic techniques required to complete the scratchboard.
