With 50 years of existence this is the oldest “Open to the World” running competition in the United States.

As one of the best ways to have fun and exercise at the same time, ballroom dancing has been a true trend setter in the past decade. Promoting a healthy and happy lifestyle which we all could use nowadays, Sarasota has become a hot spot for the best dancers in the country which has contributed to a significant growth in the dance studios business.

Florida State is the only event in Sarasota that offers a professional, amateur and pro/am championships so be prepared to catch a glance of some of the DWTS professionals competing right Infront of your eyes.

The gathering of the most prestigious judges, the best staff in the industry, the most famous and accomplished professionals and the highly competitive amateurs are only few among the parts that makes this competition unique.

Mr. Sid Pocius is taking over the organizing baton this year, with a great pride and obligation to bring the past and the present in his own unique way and creativity, so buckle up for an unforgettable and extraordinary 50th celebration.

Every day and night is filled with dancers competing from all over the world. Traditionally morning and afternoons are dedicated for all level Pro/Am dancers and this year we expect the biggest participation in 50 years. Evenings will be set for Professional Championships, and every night will have different divisions and styles where professionals will try to win and be crowned as the new 2022 Champions. Besides all the championship levels on Saturday evening there will be a very special show by US and World champions Galina Detkina and Roman Malkhasyan.

Additional events include seminars with dancesport legends (open to public), gourmet dinners, general dancing and awards ceremony
