"CC" PRIVATE INVESTIGATOR 40-HOUR PRE-LICENSING COURSE - SCF Bradenton
This class is the first step in becoming a Private Investigator in Florida. It fulfills the 40 hours of professional training pertaining to general investigative techniques that is required when applying for your Private Investigator Class CC Intern license. The purpose of this program is to prepare students for employment as "CC" Private Investigator Interns (SOC 33-9021) in accordance with the requirements of the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) Chapter 493, Florida Statutes (F.S.), Chapter 5N-1 of the Florida Administrative Code (F.A.C.) and the curriculum of the Florida Department of Education. Reinforcement of basic skills in language, reading and writing, appropriate for the job is provided through preparatory classroom instruction.
This program focuses on basic, transferable skills, and stresses understanding and demonstration of elements of the protective service occupations, such as: aspects of criminology, court demeanor, interviewing skills and the regulations of Chapter 493, Florida Statutes (F.S.) along with information related to employment skills needed for security guards, executive protection (bodyguard), repossession agents, skip tracers, and background investigations.
Upon successful completion of the mandated 40-hour class, students will receive a certificate which should be submitted with the Class CC intern license application. It will be the student’s responsibility to secure an internship with a licensed Private Investigative Agency. State College of Florida (SCF) does not guarantee placement for any student/intern.
