Event Description:
Florida’s 2.7 million small businesses are the job creators, wealth generators, and hope for a brighter future for millions of Floridians.  Sixty percent of new job gains in Florida since 2012 have come from small businesses with less than 100 employees.

Recent developments, especially COVID, have greatly impacted small businesses including their ability to grow and the ongoing role they play in our area’s economic development.  Dr. Parrish will join us to provide a report on the recent “Small Business COVID Impact Survey” for Florida and explain how the Florida Scorecard is tracking Florida’s small businesses in Manatee County.

Dr. Jerry D. Parrish is the Chief Economist and the Director of Research for the Florida Chamber Foundation.  In that role, he is responsible for conducting in-depth analyses on the Florida economy and on solutions to help secure Florida’s future.
